Company History: Marthabelle's Print Shoppe was founded in 1956 by Marthabelle Leonard in the family home in the South Plaza neighborhood. In 1972, the firm was moved to the Colonial Shops at 51st & Brookside. Two years ago, we purchased our own building at the Southwest Corner of Main Street and 51st Street. The United States Post Office Plaza Branch shares 3000 sq feet of our building. Our market niche is the premium value added quick printer for professional clients who have graduated from the Kinkos and Franchise quick printing operation but who are underserved by the larger and slower conventional print houses. Our client base includes: Country Club Bank, The Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, The Kaufman Foundation, The Missouri Rep Theatre, The Kansas City Business Journal, and many others. We operate from a 3000 square foot office. Equipment includes Ryobi and Heidelberg presses, letterpress, ink jet mailing equipment, mailing inserter, connected copiers and an extended bindery operation. Henry Leonard, the current owner, took control of the company in 1989. Henry, son of the original owner, was raised in the printing company. After professional positions with 2 large corporations and an advanced college degree, Henry returned to the business in 1982. Our founder, Marthabelle, still comes to the office 3 days weekly. Her job includes public relations, flowers, and whatever she tells us. Tony Galvan, General Manager, began as a press operator with Marthabelle's in 1985. Tony oversees all aspects of the company from production through payroll. Tony was a communications officer in the Navy prior to his completing a degree in computer science. Tony is most liked by customers and runs the sound board for the local Latino band, Los Estrellas. HOW TO APPLY: Please do not call the company. Congratulations on getting this far.
